Some Local Crime Figures for January

There were 17 total Residential and 9 Commercial Burglaries across the county for the month of January 2010. These burglaries varied from forced entry to doors and windows left unlocked. I would like to see this # drop to 0! Schedule your Home Security Survey today. Avoid becoming a victim of burglary get a survey it’s free and you will learn simple inexpensive techniques to make your home less attractive to crime and more secure. The survey concentrates on doors, locks, windows, shrubbery and lighting. Please schedule your survey with me today. Coordinators and Block Captains if you have not had a survey of your homes schedule one so that you can better explain to your members what all it entails.

We also need to be more aware of the suspicious activity occurring in your communities there were 36 thefts from vehicles and 23 incidents of vandalism across the county for the month January 2010. If it looks suspicious it usually is report it! Lock all vehicle doors remove all valuable items from cars, iPods’, navigations, laptops etc. Do not just put them out of view in the car, TAKE THEM OUT. Again, a matter of convenience is a sure comprise of security on some level. Any acts of graffiti or destruction of property needs to be reported and removed ASAP. Utilize exterior lighting from dusk to dawn at your homes and report all crimes. Crimes in progress and medical emergencies call 911, all other incidents or crimes report to 301-600-2071.
