Last Monday night, June 2nd, a GPS unit was stolen from a resident's car on Scarlett Oak Terrace (Copper Oaks II).

Would like to add another theft to your list of activity. Rather extensive amount of items taken from every area of buildings on property. Occurred between July 3-10, 2008. One witness saw white pickup truck in yard on Wed. July 9. Victim lives on Route 550, Creagerstown Road within city limits.
I checked out the Frederick County crime map (see links) and didn't see anything marked for July although there was a theft in the northwest end of town (near creagerstown rd) listed in August.
Assuming the crime was reported I wonder what the accuraccy and lag time of that crime map is.
I added a new post (October) for folks to comment on any ongoing issues or recent events.

Woodsboro is generally a beautiful and tranquil place but we have our occasional problems. This site or "blog" has been established to promote communications about those problems and in doing so, help unite our people, our elected officials and law enforcement agencies in maintaining the Woodsboro we love.
This site is intended as an electronic "neighborhood watch". Anyone can participate by commenting on postings. It can be done anonymously or "in the open". Anyone can read this. The site will be edited in an attempt to keep it at a PG or better rating. Block Captains focus on specific regions of Woodsboro and initiate postings. Starting in October 2009, Block Captains will share information via a private forum and their discussions and observations, if of any general interest, will be summarized on this site on a monthly basis. Urgent issues will be reported as they emerge.
Please note that posting information about a problem or crime does not constitute notifying law enforcement. You must, and are strongly encouraged to, do that directly yourself. The benefit of posting here is to share the information with other folks and to provide data regarding possible repeat offenses or other patterns of trouble or concern.
